78th Day oF attAchMent
In the morning.....
My colleague and i delivered all the devices that are repair and ready for sending back to the various wards. We kind of spend 1 hour delivering all the devices. Shortly after i returned back to the BME, Staff Nurse called to notify us about the PCA Pump that was due last month. We did not get a chance to do last month as it was being occupied by the patients most of the time. I went up to Operation theatre as soon as my colleague told me about the pump is ready to be collected. I did the bolus, flow, occlusion and leakage current test. I took lesser time compared to the first time i did the maintenance for it.
In the afternoon.......
I received a call from SICU that the ventilator 840 series having an error message which said "power loss & recovery due to pre-existing DEVICE ALERT. Check alarm log. EST required." I recalled that i meet with this problem a few days before. The same device having the same problem again. I did the SST and EST again to see where the fault is this time. EST required a "golden tubing" which is just a short tube connecting From-patient port to the To-patient port for a few small tests such as the compliance test. After the tests were done, i asked the staff nurse to check and sign for what i have done with the ventilator. I was given a task by my colleague which is collecting the loaner endoscope and informed the vendor about endoscopes ready for returning and sending for repair. When i was in the endoscopy department, nursing officer said that the loaner endoscope is not ready for returning as gastroscope is spoilt again and requested vendor to send a service engineer down to service the endoscope. I went back to BME to notify my colleague about it and did some repair on the devices that was sent down by porter attendent early today.
